I installed the windows to the SSD and rebooted. Now when I removed the HDD, it managed to boot from the USB. That is why I could not boot from the USB before. It is possible, that the BIOS does not boot anything else, if the 1 disk is inserted. The problem might have been Alienware all along. I will report any issues and we will see what happens when I blug the HDD back in after the installation. I managed to create new partitions to the SSD in the "Where do you want to install Windows?" window. Tho I can not connect the HDD into the computer or the USB installer will not boot. Once the drive you want to install on is chosen, type Clean << that wipes drive so could do it on both cache and hdd at this point.Īnd you just solved the new problem. Type Select disk X - where X is the number of the hdd you want to install to, change X to that number and press enter This shows all drives available, DVD/USB and hdd, make note of ssd/hdd number Press Shift F10 on the installation screen, this will open cmd If all you want to do is reinstall win 10, see if this works - this won't work if you get those errors though So, I dodged the original problem, but now I have a new one. Now it says something "Installer could not create a new partition or does not found one." I can see the remaining part of the cache drive, as well as some weird 128MB MSR drive and my 232GB SSD. It works, but I am now stuck in the "Where do you want to install Windows?" screen. Now that you said that it is totally the Intel Rapid Storage, I tought it has to be the HDDs fault. Went through some similar threads here in Tomshardware. I syncronized the cache and the accelerated HDD in the Rapid Storage BIOS or something, whatever it means. Both of them were not accesable via explorer. The remainings are used for some weird backup storage or something. Anything that has the Windows loading screen, also the USBstick file, fails.Ħ0GB of the cache is used as cache. So, I have tried every possible combination of booting. might need to disable Secure boot in bios (might show it on page 110 on in the manual above) Did you press F12 at start up and Select "USB Storage Device" from boot menu, as otherwise it will stick to the hdd. it shouldn't be as its not part of windows. I wonder why irst is running on the USB boot. Iastora.sys = Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver Iastorav.sys's description is "Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver Is there anything on C drive you want to rescue? try making this on another PC: - linux won't have these driver errors at boot (The SSD is now my storage drive, it works without problem in that use case)Ĩ0gb seems awfully big for a cache drive. We agreed that the problem had to be Samsung SSD, or Alienware 18. Later on the anwer was to remove acceleration in the first option screen using ctrl+I.īut we faced more complicated problem. Here is a video of the endless boot sycle: My computer is 2013 Alienware 18 with 2x GTX880m and i7-4910MQ. I do have 1TB HDD that has 80GB SSD cache, with Intel rapid storage. It says "Stop Code: Page fault in non paged area, What Failed: iastorav.sys" when I boot from HDD or "Stop Code: DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL, What Failed: iaStorA.sys" when I boot from USB. ![]() The install stopped and the computer restarted.Īfter that whatever I do Boot from HDD or USB, or try to enter repair, or anything that needs the Win10 loading screen, It gives me blue screen. There may be a secific trick with BIOS configuration - again a question for HP.After trying to get the computer to boot from the USB stick, trying to clean install win10, i pressed the x-button in the setup window. Make a good backup when you have reliable installation (either default of 3rd pty) You can address their local support for help. I do not know what follows from this purchase. Sometimes driver is needed during installation (Support for SATA is not included on installation If you have installation medium (not recovery one) then you should install chipset driver just after vanilla plain Windows is installed followed by other drivers. ![]() HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook CTO 15t-4000įor the very first model here is driver page HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook 15-4095ca HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook 15-4013cl HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook 15-4011nr HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook 15-4010nr HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook 15-4001xx Perhaps more appropriate forum for problems like this one is HP support/forum, as this is a very specific.
